Dental Hygiene & Prevention

Here at White Friars House we firmly believe that that the most important service we can provide for our patients is the prevention of oral diseases. Gum disease and tooth decay are common problems that can lead to pain and ultimately tooth loss, but are wholly preventable. We aim to achieve optimal oral health in our patients by a close collaboration between dentist, patient and hygienist.

After assessment at your dental examination you may be referred to one of our dental hygienists.

Sue and Elaine form our highly experienced and caring team of dental hygienists.

Their role is to expertly clean and polish tooth surfaces, thereby removing the bacteria that cause tooth decay, gum disease and bad breath. They also instruct and encourage the use of good cleaning techniques and diet, in order to maintain the health of these tissues in the longer term.

Research also shows a strong correlation between good oral health and good general health, emphasising the importance of keeping our mouths as clean as possible.
