Inlays and Onlays

Inlays or Onlays can be used instead of fillings to repair teeth.

These restorations are made outside of the mouth in a dental laboratory and are then precisely fitted into the tooth in the surgery.

An inlay sits in a hole in the tooth while an onlay sits on the tooth and builds up its shape.

They are strong and can last longer and look more natural than normal fillings, whilst being more conservative of sound tooth tissue than full crowns.

They can be made of tooth colored porcelain, metal alloy or white composite.
