Quality dentistry in the heart of Chester

White Friars House is a long established, family dental practice located in the heart of historic Chester. Based in a wonderful Georgian building and staffed with a team of superb dentists, we have been looking after many generations of patients and their families. In fact, we believe that dentistry started here back in 1859!

We are immensely proud to be able to offer contemporary, family dental care in a modern environment, while maintaining the character and history of White Frairs House.

What to expect at your appointment?

We have had to make some changes to our standard procedures for treating patients due to the Coronavirus pandemic. These changes are designed to keep patients and staff safe and allow us to provide safe dental care for our patients. We hope that by providing this information in advance of your appointment it will help things to run smoothly and avoid any surprises or avoidable problems when you come to see us.

What to expect when you attend for your appointment:

  • All adult patients over the age of 16 should attend alone whenever possible, if this isn't possible please discuss this with us in advance

  • It is very important that you arrive on time for your appointment as if we run behind it will be much harder to keep our patients and appointments spaced apart in the practice

  • When you get to the practice the second door in the porch will be locked to prevent people walking in from the street to book appointments (all appointments are by phone and need to be arranged in advance). We kindly request you use the hand gel provided and then ring the doorbell to let reception know you have arrived

  • Please make every effort to then follow social distancing guidelines and keep 2m away from our reception staff

  • We request that you try to avoid the need to use the toilet facilities which will be locked, if absolutely required please ask reception to open this for you

  • We have also had to remove all toys & magazines and the water fountain from reception at this time

  • When you enter the surgery you may notice some extra protective equipment that the dentist and nurse now have to wear, please rest assured it is our usual welcoming faces behind these masks and visors but we have to take every precaution to maintain safety at this present time

  • These masks can make communication more difficult and we hope you understand if we have to get straight to the business of dealing with your dental problem

  • After your appointment we will ask you to return to reception only if there is a fee to be paid for your treatment, if this is the case we request ideally card payments not cash at this time. If possible we will use contactless payments.

  • Any necessary future appointments will be made in the dental surgery or over the phone at a later time to minimise time spent at reception.

Please let us know immediately and do not come to the practice if you develop:

  • A continuous cough

  • A Fever

  • A loss of taste or smell

Also contact us if anyone you live with develops any of these symptoms or if anyone in your household has had to isolate.

Coronavirus Update

As per the government’s recent announcement, dental practices in England are now able to reopen from the 8th June.

This is very welcome news for everyone here at White Friars Dental House as we fully understand just how difficult the lockdown period has been for our loyal patients and it has been very frustrating for us not to be able to provide our usual care.

Having said this, our reopening must be gradual and cautious - we will not at this point be simply returning to ‘business as usual’. Our priority is always the safety and health of patients and staff and this will be at the forefront of our mind as we move forward.

We have been in the process of securing the relevant PPE. However, it is in high demand and short supply. For this reason, we will be initially prioritising those patients with urgent or emergency dental needs and those who have contacted us with problems over the lockdown.

For a routine appointment, please wait for us to contact you.

Our cross infection and safety procedures were already of the highest standard. Moving forward, we will now be adhering to additional Covid-secure protocols. This means your visit to the practice will be different. This is to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff.

Further updates will be posted on this website and on our social media accounts.

We look forward to seeing you all soon and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your patience and loyalty during this time.
